These new YouTube Features will be updated before the beginning of 2025

I’ve created a video to tell you all about the latest features that will be added to YouTube in 2024.

YouTube Updates in October 2024

The 7 New Features that will be added to the platform

YouTube will add the following features to the platform:

1. Fine-tunable Playback Speed: YouTube is introducing the ability to adjust playback speed in precise increments of 0.05, giving viewers more control over how they watch content.

2. Enhanced Browsing: New improvements in landscape mode (coming to iOS) include larger thumbnails, bigger text, and smoother browsing, designed to make YouTube more visually appealing and easier to navigate.

3. Improved Miniplayer: The mobile app’s miniplayer now allows viewers to resize and move it around while browsing YouTube, perfect for multitasking while watching videos.

4. Collaborative Playlists: You can now invite friends and family to build playlists together via a link or QR code (coming to TV). Customization tools like adding personal or AI-generated thumbnails are also introduced, and later this year, viewers will be able to vote on videos in playlists, enhancing interactivity.

5. Sleep Timer: YouTube’s new Sleep Timer lets users set a time limit on videos, automatically pausing content when the timer runs out—a handy feature for those who watch videos before bed.

6. Badges for Achievements: YouTube is adding badges to celebrate milestones like being an early channel member, completing quizzes, or being a top fan. These badges will be displayed in the “You” tab, and more types will be rolled out in the coming weeks.

7. YouTube on TV: TV users will experience visual enhancements with a more cinematic feel, including pops of color and an upgraded interface for Shorts. There will also be immersive channel pages where videos start playing automatically, giving viewers a preview of creators’ content.

These updates aim to enhance both the viewer and creator experience across web, mobile, TV, and YouTube Music.
